Varun Alagar Surendran is a highly acclaimed wildlife filmmaker from India known for his expertise in weaving challenging wildlife stories. With a background in animal behavior, he specializes in using long lens, gimbal, and aerial techniques to craft visually stunning stories. As a Royal Televison Society Cinematography awardee, Varun has directed and filmed international wildlife documentaries for major broadcasters like BBC, National Geographic, ORF, Arte, NDR and many more earning a reputation for his strong work ethic, wildlife knowledge, and ability to handle complex shoots in remote areas. Over the last twelve years, Varun has filmed in diverse and often extreme locations across India ranging from -30°C to 54°C, showcasing a unique and observant style that highlights the raw beauty of wildlife. His work is characterized by a commitment to respecting nature and a dedication to getting the perfect shot and building outstanding sequences.
